Three cheetah cubs were born to their mother, Kyan late last year at the Taronga Western Plains zoo in Australia. They are currently out of the view of the public and spending time with their mother. The zoo plans to unveil them to the public in March of this year.

Yellow-Backed Duiker Born at Memphis Zoo

June 28th saw the birth of Chester, a yellow-backed duiker, at the Memphis Zoo. Duikers are a species of antelope found in Sub-Saharan Africa. Yellow-backed duikers are the largest and most abundant of all duiker species. They are threatened with extinction due to hunting for food and habitat loss.

Baby Rockhopper Penguins at Sea World
Sea World Orlando is now the home to two rockhopper penguins. The penguins are born with a downy feathers that will eventually be shed in favor of the familiar crowns of adult rockhoppers.
San Diego Zoo Welcomes Tapir
Tembikai, meaning watermelon, was born on January 29th of this year. He weighed 13 lbs at birth and is now up to 30 lbs. He is a Malaya tapir which is an endangered species.
