Animal Fact Guide is giving away two prize packs containing the DVD, We Bought a Zoo, and the novel it was based on!
The story follows Benjamin Mee (played by Matt Damon), a Los Angeles newspaper columnist and adventure writer who, as a single father, faces the challenges of raising his two young children.
Hoping that a fresh start and a new life will restore their family spirit, Mee quits his job and buys an old rural house outside the city with a unique bonus feature: a zoo named the Rosemoor Animal Park, where dozens of animals reside under the care of head zookeeper Kelly Foster (played by Scarlett Johansson) and her dedicated team.
With no experience, limited time and a shoestring budget, Mee sets out with the support of his family and the local community to reopen the zoo. Now, Benjamin is no longer reporting an adventure story; he’s living it in his own backyard.

i would have native animals in my zoo. to remind folks about what we have here for lovely animals
How neat, haven’t seen the movie yet, like to watch them at home on our big screen with dinner or a great snack (especially with two boys at home – a 6 yr old and 9 month old)! I think my son thinks the movie is almost a real life version of Dr. Seuss’ If I ran the zoo/circus.

Didn’t read the whole instructions. I think my son would like to get animals for each of the letters of the alphabet. Personally, I love marine animals – turtles and seals, whales and dolphins, they really fascinate me.
I would have a zoo with endangered species So I could educate people about the animals and how important it is to reintroduce the species back into the wild.
One animal is very hard to pick because I love so many and care for their well being. Buy if I have to choose one it would have to be a dolphin. I can watch them for hours swimming and I find that they are very fascinating and peaceful.
My favorite animal to have would be monkeys and apes. They are amazing animals and also, how cool would it be to have 1 of every animal. Too cool!
I would love to have one of the parrots…it’s my daughter’s second favorite animal behind her dog, which she loves of course!
I would like to have polar bears in my zoo, they are my favorite animals. I saw some in the aquarium in Seattle and got to watch them play and it was the best experience of my life.
I would have elephants, but not just any elephants, I would rescue them from circuses and let them live happily forever! And sea lions, because they’re just so fun to watch swim laps!
I would want the most endangered species as long as they are species that would have a better chance in captivity. Tigers would be number 1 I think.
I would love the penguins as they are the most entertaining!
The Giraffe — I love giraffes. I want a zoo.
I would have to have penguins, they are one of the most interesting animals to watch!
It would have to be monkeys. They have always been my favorite since I was a little girl!
Have to be lions- King of the Jungle…
I have to say the endangered Lynx. Iberian, spanish, canadian and all other types of lynx, per my 9 year old daughter who wants to rescue them!
I’d definitely need to include a Tasmanian Devil! Those animals are so incredibly fascinating. They are undeniably beautiful but also vicious predators. Likewise, the wolverine is an interesting animal. It is a pretty small animal but is ferocious and able to take down prey much larger than itself. Native Americans even call it “the evil one” due to its vicious nature.
i would like to have a monkey because there full of energy
I would have elephants!!! They’re my fave 🙂
…Tigers
cause I think they r beautiful creatures!
white tiger and a kapuchan monkey because one is so beautiful and majestic, and the other is smart and fun to watch and/or play with.

I would have penguins because they are so entertaining and comical to watch!
I would have lions because they are so beautiful, and really are the kings of all animals. 🙂
I would love to have a panda in my zoo. They are my favorite animal.

If I bought a zoo I would love to have lions. I am partial to cats and I just love lions. They are so cute.
If I bought a zoo the 1st animal I would want is a capuchan monkey. 🙂
If I bought a zoo I would love to have Penguins. They are so much fun to watch!
If my kids and I had our own zoo, chimps would definitely be the first animals I would put in it since they are so intelligent and can relate so well with humans. I would also have to have giraffes so we could feed them as a family, as we have done that several times in the past and every single time is just like the first ~ it’s just an amazing experience!
I would have Lions and Tigers. They are so beautiful to look at.
I would love to have a zoo of just endangered animals. That way we could keep them around longer.
Also I would follow the process of the Dnver Zoo which rotates its animals.
I would have a panther because of the majestic and graceful beauty.
Would have to go with lions and tigers. Wouldn’t seem like a zoo unless they were there.

I love Kangaroos and Donkeys so I would most likely have a lot of those.
Oh my…my son would LOVE this. What a great giveaway!
He is on the Autism Spectrim and loves anything to do with animals. We couldn’t see this movie in the theater because he’s sensative to noise, but he really wanted to see this.
My son has a list of animals, in order to which he plans on getting for his zoo. I’m sure he WILL do something in life with animals since he adores them so.
If I (and my son) bought a zoo, which animal would we most like to have in it and why?
Depends on the catagory, lol! Mammals would be an elephant because they are big and beautful. Birds would be parrots because they talk. Reptiles would be bearded lizard because they’re cute (I didn’t know lizards could be cute, but he thinks so). Anyhow that’s how we’d start our zoo 🙂
Best of luck to all.
A little monkey. They are just so fun and cute!
Elephants! There soooo big and cute!
I’d like to have a Panda in my zoo! They are so beautiful. Thanks.
I would love to have pandas!
I’d want a spider. I figure they’d notice their entrapment the least. I’m not big on Zoo’s except my own (smile). However, we love movies and this one would be a good teaching experience.
I love lemurs. those would be awesome.
i would want a cheetah cuz i love them!
If I bought a zoo I would have a lot of Elephants and Rhinos because they need help to survive poachers in the wild and I would like to give them the sanctuary to live a safe life.
Please enter me in your giveaway.
If I bought a zoo, the animal I would want in my zoo the most would be a Rhino family. As a zookeeper (a career I actually am entering!) I would make sure the Rhinos had plenty of clean space, food, sun, veterinary care, and enrichment. Patrons of my zoo would learn about the poaching crisis in Africa and how it leads to great suffering on the part of Rhinos. They would get to see them in action, (especially the little ones) and come to appreciate just how amazing these animals are, and how deserving they are of protection and respect.
I might also want a Bali Mynah. I was able to see one up-close at the Lincoln Park Zoo last summer and was stunned by how beautiful it was. I wrote a piece about it here:

I haven’t been able to see the movie yet, but I would really really love a copy to enjoy, especially with the book. Thank you!
I think that is actually a hard question….definitely goats…my dad had a goat and it lived in the house. Would love for my girls to get to know a goat.
I would most like to have Tigers. Even though I love them all, Tigers have always been special to me.
